Capitalizes on and enhances the visual aspects of downtown commercial areas to create a safe, appealing and inviting atmosphere. The physical elements such as the storefronts and building architecture, streetscape, public art, street furniture, parking areas, public spaces; as well as quality maintenance practices such as historic building rehabilitation, adaptive use, appropriate new development, a design review process and long term planning are also strategies used to enhance the physical appearance of a downtown.

  • Create a Placemaking Initiative (3-5 yrs.)
    • Build a streetscape initiative
    • Evaluate Village Master Plan & Parks & Rec for collaboration
    • Assess potential property opportunities
    • Research & Develop a Historical Walking Tour
    • Develop Design Standards, review guidelines and process for Facade Grant Review
  • Create engaging Public Art intiatives
  • Identify funding stategy for Placemaking Initiative in conjunction with Organization Committee
