Economic Restructuring Committee Interim Chair



Strengthens the existing economic assets while diversifying the economic base of the downtown to support and improve profitability. The goal is to build a strong commercial district that supports today's consumers by providing a balanced commercial mix, supporting and expanding existing businesses, recruiting new businesses, developing infill space, and converting unused or underused commercial space into economically productive property.

2022 Launch Priorities

  • Evaluate 2021 unfinished projects and prioritize for 2022
    • Host Retail Challenge to bring new retail business to downtown
    • Launch Farmers Market in downtown
    • Evaluate a Merchant Association Grant Program for relevant updates/improvements
    • Facilitate a local merchant networking and resource series
    • Provide value to local businesses through a Shop Ortonville initiative
  • Facilitate commerce generating activities and events
